Life is good
Today I am overwhelmed. A friend is having serious trouble, I have too much to do, writing isn’t going as well as I have hoped due to time issues, etc. I have a whole book worth of complaining I could do, but after thinking about it, I realize, even with the problems life is good. So I am concentrating on that today.
First, my health is good. I have allergies which are driving me crazy, but I have not been afflicted with cancer, my heart is in great shape and is still beating, my lungs are good, I can walk, see, talk and hear. I am very lucky.
Second, my kids are healthy. Again, allergies aren’t great and I hate battling them, but they are healthy. I am not tucking them into bed at night knowing they have a serious illness, I am not watching them struggle to breath, and unless an unforseen accident occurs, I will see them again soon. Life is good.
Third, I have a wonderful fiance whom I love deeply and who loves me! For the most part we get along great, but as with all relationships, it’s often up and down, but it’s all minor. I never lie in bed wondering if I am loved and cry because I am lonely. Life is good.
Next, I have a lot to do today. I know I mentioned earlier I have too much to do, but that’s not a bad thing. It may get stressful, but it means I have a life. I am not sitting around my house lonely, bored or unable to work. I am somewhat productive. I am working today on my house, which means I have a home. I am picking kids up early, which means I have a family. I am writing which means my mind is working. Life is good.
Another goodie, my ex husband, the father of my four children, is getting married this evening. It really doesn’t effect my life one way or another, but I am happy for them. This means my resentment, anger and bitterness have left my heart and I am free to care. It means my kids have someone else to love them. They get to share in their father’s joy. It means there is hope in life. It’s a good thing and life is good.
And last, I am loved by God. If there is no other reason for life to be good, I always have the love of God. Life is really awesome!
